Graduation rates jumped in 2013-14
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Graduation rates went up a full percentage point in the 2013-14 school year.
The Indiana Department of Education released data on Wednesday stating that in the 2013-14 school year, graduation rates went up to 89.9 percent – up from 88.6 percent from the previous school year.
Indiana’s non-waiver graduation rates also increased from 81.7 percent to 83.4 percent in the 2013-14 school year.
“I want to thank Indiana’s students, educators and families for their continued hard work,” Glenda Ritz, Indiana’s Superintendent of Public Instruction said in a news release. “Because of their efforts and the outreach efforts of the Department of Education, more children are graduating from high school and preparing themselves for college and career. Today’s news is yet another sign of the great work happening every day in schools throughout Indiana.”
