IMPD introduces first full-time therapy dog coming to the squad in March
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A new officer is being added to the fleet in Indianapolis, the police department said Thursday.
Officer Allie, a chocolate Labrador, will join the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department as it’s first full-time therapy dog, the department said.
“She will provide officers and their families comfort, unconditional love and affection,” the department said in a Facebook post Thursday afternoon.
The department thanked Ultimate Canine, which is an organization that trains therapy, service and police dogs.
Officer Allie is expected to be sworn in and operational by the end of March, the department said.
