IMPD investigating homicide after gunshot victim dies

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – IMPD homicide detectives are investigating a homicide after a gunshot victim died.

Police said on April 12 just after 1:30 a.m., police were sent to the 2700 block of south Shelby St. on reports of a person shot. They said they found the victim, Maurice Hill of Indianapolis, lying on the floor suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Hill was then transported to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.

IMPD aggravated assault, homicide detectives and the Marion County Indianapolis Forensic Services Agency, ruled the shooting as a homicide after the victim died from his injuries at the hospital on April 24.

Detectives have not released any suspects.
