IMPD: Person hit by car on east side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A person was hit by a vehicle on the east side of Indianapolis Thursday morning, making it the third such incident of the morning.

Police said it happened in the 600 block of Washington Pointe Drive just after 8 a.m. This is near 10th Street and South Mitthoeffer Road.

According to police, the vehicle stayed on scene. The victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

Earlier in the morning, a man was seriously hurt when he was hit by a car in the 2300 block of North Shadeland Avenue, near Interstate 70, around 6 a.m. Thirty minutes later, a child suffered bumps and bruises when they were hit on the city’s west side.
