Indiana police issue alert on pilot missing since April 5

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Indianapolis police are seeking the public’s help finding a pilot who vanished nearly a week ago after his small plane left an Indianapolis airport.

An alert issued Saturday by Indianapolis police says 59-year-old Glenn Foy was last seen April 5 when he took off from Eagle Creek Airport in a Yakovlev YAK-52. That plane model was originally designed in the former Soviet Union as an acrobatic training aircraft.

The Federal Aviation Administration says the Indianapolis man’s plane went off radar in the Muncie area about 60 miles northeast of Indianapolis.

Police are urging anyone in the Muncie area to contact local authorities if they noticed a plane in distress last week.

The Civil Air Patrol is searching that area and information from the public could aid in their search.
