Indianapolis woman found guilty in murder of daughter
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An Indianapolis mother has been found guilty in the murder of her toddler.
Brittney Massey, 23, was arrested on Nov. 29, 2013 for killing her 2-year-old daughter.
Court documents show Brittney Massey admitted she beat her while trying to potty train the toddler, and later held her face-down on her mattress to stop her from crying.
She was charged with murder, battery resulting in death and neglect of a dependent resulting in death by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.
Massey’s trial was held Friday and she was found guilty on all three charges. Her sentencing hearing will be held Feb. 6.
