ISP: 17 vehicles broken into at Indiana State Fair
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — If you’re heading to the Indiana State Fair, leave your valuables at home.
That’s the message from Indiana State Police after a rash of car break-ins.
ISP said 17 cars were broken into Friday and all of the break-ins happened in the infield parking lot.
Police say it’s hard to pinpoint exactly what time the break-ins happened but believe it was sometime in the middle of the day while there was sunlight and crowds walking to and from the gates.
Most of the missing items include electronics and small valuables. Police say some of the victims had left their car doors unlocked but they say a majority of these break-ins were smash and grabs.
ISP said extra patrols are working the parking lots now.
Right now there’s no word on a possible suspect or suspects.
