ISP badge, weapon snatched in rash of car break-ins

COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) – Police say a firearm was among several items taken during a rash of vehicle break-ins in Columbus on Wednesday.

According to police, the break-ins happened near 17th and Gladstone overnight. An Indiana State Police badge, identification credentials, and a weapon were taken from a vehicle that was secured.

Police say no other ransacked vehicles had any items missing.

The gun is a 9 mm Sig Sauer, according to Indiana State Police.
