Kokomo man dies in single-vehicle crash
GRANT COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — Police are investigating after a Kokomo man died in a crash in Grant County around midnight Saturday.
Indiana State Police say James M. Puett was driving west on County Road 200 South at an “extremely high rate of speed” when he disregarded a stop sign at State Road 13. The car went airborne and he lost control, witnesses told police.
The vehicle rolled several times in a field on the south side of the road.
Puett was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say he was not wearing a seatbelt.
Police say alcohol was likely a factor.
