Bloomington woman shares weight loss story in book

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) – In 2012, Sue Reynolds, 60, launched a health and fitness journey that would amount to a 200 pound weight loss, appearances on world athletic championship stages and the authoring of a book.

“I just got really tired of all the things I couldn’t do because of my size at 335 pounds,” Reynolds said of her decision to make lifestyle changes. “I couldn’t fit in a restaurant booth, I couldn’t even put on my own socks.”

From her home in Bloomington, Reynolds said she published her experiences in “The Athlete Inside: The Transforming Power of Hope, Tenacity, and Faith” to inspire readers to believe in possibilities.

“Anything is possible and you can transform your life at any age,” Reynolds told Daybreak viewers during a FaceTime interview on Thursday.

Team USA lists that Reynolds has competed in six USA Triathlon National Championship events and represented her country on the global level four times.

For the first year of sales, 100% of the proceeds from Reynolds’ book will benefit the USA Triathlon Foundation which helps provide opportunities for people to participate in the sport.
