Carmel’s website down after being hacked
CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) — The website for the City of Carmel is down after being hacked.
The site, which was displaying a message that it had been hacked by Iranian hackers, is currently inaccessible.
“We are working as fast as we can to get the matter resolved,” city officials posted on Twitter.
News 8 has received this statement via email from city officials:
The City of Carmel discovered shortly after 8 a.m. today that its website had been hacked. Our IT officials immediately took the site down. We are working to determine what happened and are also working to fix the matter as soon as possible.
On Friday afternoon, the city said no private information had been compromised.
