Person dies in fatal crash on Shadeland Avenue

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A fatal crash Tuesday afternoon closed Shadeland Avenue between 13th and 16th streets on the city’s east side, police said.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and emergency medical crews were called shortly before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday to the crash scene, according to dispatching information.

Genae Cook with IMPD public affairs said the person was initially in critical condition but later died.

No additional information on the vehicles involved, the crash victim, other people involved in the crash, or what led to the crash was immediately available from IMPD.

No update had been provided from the Marion County Coroner’s Office or IMPD as of May 20, 2022.
