INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A shooting on the city’s near north side is under investigation.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened inside an apartment complex in the area of 37th and Meridian streets just before 11:30 Sunday evening.

Police said a man walked into the building, the security guard asked him to leave and officers say the man then came back and threatened the security guard. That’s when the security guard then shot the man.

It’s unclear if the man had a gun or if the guard acted in self-defense.

At last check, the man was in stable condition at the hospital.
