Man stabbed inside auto parts store

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man was seriously injured in a stabbing inside a west side auto parts store Wednesday evening, according to IMPD.

Officers were called to O’Reilly Auto Parts in the 3700 block of North High School Road, just south of 38th Street, around 6:30 p.m.

Police say a man and woman were arguing in the parking lot when a second man “exchanged words” with the couple. The second man stabbed the other man just inside the front door near the counter, IMPD says.

Police initially told 24-Hour News 8 the man was in critical condition. The victim’s condition was later downgraded to serious condition.

The suspect is described as a black man around 5 feet 5 inches tall with a muscular build and wearing a blue mechanic-style jump suit. He was armed with a knife and drove away in a late 90’s style black Ford F-150 pickup truck with big chrome wheels and large all-season tires, according to police.

If you know anything about this incident, call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS.
