Man with fake beard robs Fortville bank

FORTVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – Investigators in Fortville are looking for a man who robbed a bank Friday morning while wearing a fake beard and a Ball State University sweatshirt.

A man walked into Greenfield Bank in Fortville around 11:30 a.m. Friday and handed a bank teller a note demanding money, according to Fortville Police Department officials. He did not show bank employees a weapon and left with money. It wasn’t clear what direction he went when he left the bank.

The bank robber was described as a white man in his mid-twenties to early-thirties, between 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, 150-180 pounds and wearing light blue jeans, white tennis shoes and a grey hooded sweatshirt with red letters spelling out “Ball State team basketball.” He also had a hat that was camouflage on the bill and back with white on the front and an orange Wrangler logo. He had a tattoo of a star on his left hand and may drive an older model black Ford expedition with gold trim.

Anyone with information on the crime should contact Fortville Police Department at 317-485-4044.
