Police investigating after teen shot on east side
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating after a teenager was shot on the city’s east side Tuesday night.
IMPD got the call just before 9:20 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of North State Avenue, near the intersection of State Avenue and Ohio Street.
Officials said the victim was a 16-year-old girl who had been shot in the chest and arm.
She was transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital in serious condition. Officers said she is awake and breathing.
Police have not released information about a possible suspect.
