Police investigating two people shot overnight

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police department is investigating the shooting of two people.

Officers were called to the 1300 block of West 25th Street early Sunday morning. Police said the victims, a man and a woman, told detectives they were buying a cellphone from an unknown woman when two men shot them. The victims told police the suspects they left in two vehicles.

Police said evidence was found that did not support the story the two who were shot told investigators.

Police then got a call from someone on the opposite side of the city who wanted to report their cellphone stolen. IMPD said that person’s vehicle was the same make and model of a vehicle reportedly involved in the shooting on West 25th Street. Investigators also found four bullet holes in the side of the car.

Detectives have been questioning people throughout the night to find out what really happened. If you know anything you’re to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317) 262 – TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous.
