Southeastern Indiana HIV outbreak now over 100 cases

AUSTIN, Ind. (WISH) — Health officials say the HIV outbreak in southeast Indiana now tops 100 people.

There are now 95 confirmed HIV cases and 11 preliminary positive cases.

All of the cases are linked to intravenous drug users sharing needles.

A limited needle-exchange program has been set up in Scott County in hopes of stopping the spread of the virus.
