Storms move through Indiana, leave damage

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Multiple power poles and a tree were knocked down as storms moved through Hendricks County Thursday afternoon, police officials there confirm.

The storms prompted severe thunderstorm warnings for Boone, Hendricks, Montgomery, Putnam, Henry and Rush counties that has since expired.

A Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department spokesman said on County Road 500 North, a car was surrounded by power poles that fell around it. Possibly five power poles and a tree were down in that area near North Salem.

No one was injured in the incident.

Duke Energy was reporting 491 customers without power after the storms moved through.
