Suspected dog killer surrenders to police
MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – The man accused of beating a dog to death last week in Peru has surrendered to authorities.
According to Peru Police Chief Michael Meeks, 24-year-old Corbin Jones turned himself in Saturday night and then immediately bonded out of jail.
Jones faces a preliminary felony charge of killing a domestic animal.
Police said they they received a 911 call on Dec. 5 from a person who said they witnessed Jones kicking and striking a dog. Authorities said the dog died on the way to the veterinarian.
Jones is expected back in court on Dec. 22.
