Tornado touches down across central Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A tornado caused damage and knocked out power across central Indiana on Monday afternoon and evening, but no injuries were reported.

Warning sirens first sounded around 5:50 p.m. in Marion, Boone and Hendricks counties.

The storm moved northeast, leaving behind a wake of damage before departing the region around 9 p.m.

A funnel cloud was reported on the ground in Danville, Browsnburg, Clayton and other locations.

The National Weather Service will survey damage in the coming days and determine exactly where a tornado or tornadoes touched down.

Video seen above is from Chris Parr in Zionsville. It appears to show an explosion happening as a funnel cloud rolled through Boone County.

Other videos also show a funnel cloud around the region.
