Wife of Pacers player hosts annual prom dress giveaway
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Hundreds of Indianapolis teens will get to enjoy their high school prom much more this year thanks to an Indiana Pacers player’s wife.
For the third year, Lesley West, wife of Pacers forward David West, held her annual prom dress giveaway for girls in need.
West started the program several years ago when her husband played for the New Orleans Pelicans.
More than 750 girls from 10 Indianapolis-area high schools got to pick from the selections set out at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
In addition to donated dresses, 600 were purchased by the Wests themselves for the event.
