Woman met man at strip club, shot and killed him
SPRING HILL, Fla. (WFLA) – A Pasco County woman is charged with murder after deputies say she met a man at a strip club and then shot and killed him in the parking lot of a Holiday Inn Express in Spring Hill.
Kayla Breann Evelyn Lucille Collins, age 23, is charged with 2nd degree murder in connection with the death of Jeffrey Lott, 45.
Early Thursday morning, deputies responded to a call about shots fired and found Lott’s body in the parking lot of a Holiday Inn Express located at 3528 Commerical Way.
Hernando County Sheriff Al Nienhuis said that Lott was a construction worker who lived in Georgia, but traveled to the Tampa Bay area every few weeks for construction jobs. Lott went to a bar on Wednesday night and then went to the Lollipops strip club in Hudson and wound up meeting Collins.
Nienhuis said he did not know if Collins worked at the club or was a patron there.
Lott later went with Collins to a Denny’s restaurant. The sheriff said he drank alcohol there and thought that he should not drive after drinking, so he asked Collins to drive him to his motel, the Holiday Inn Express, where he was staying.
Collins drove him to an ATM and then to the Holiday Inn Express where she allegedly shot him five times and then went back to meet her friends at the Denny’s.
“It is obvious, we’re sure she is the one who pulled the trigger,” said Nienhuis.
Pasco County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Collins Friday morning. She was charged with 2nd degree murder, armed robbery and grand theft auto.
Nienhuis said detectives are not sure of a motive for the crime.
